Weekend Visit to Aahar Food Show,2015

Being a marketing manager in a company which focus on food and beverage products, I consider Aahar International Food & Hospitality Fair as an important part in my marketing plan and visits Pragati Maiden every year to see this amazing exhibition. I love to meet new people and old one who are deeply connected with food and hospitality industry. It gives me an opportunity to connect with them and also develop relationship with new buyers and sellers. It helps me to upgrade my knowledge and understand current market trends and learn about the future products. Further we always place our own stall at the main hall for promotion of our products and to get our brand visibility and promote it by giving prospectus to people who visit our stand and also provide them with different sample so that they can test it and see if it can be part of raw material for their product.

This time I reached the venue early in the morning and got my business pass along with my fellow employees. We had good time exploring different halls and looking at hotel and restaurant equipments and meeting different suppliers too. There many staffs offering free samples and testing of food products and drinks. There were also many people who were interested to buy kitchen home food items likes pickles and spices for many special purposes.

I love going to the event and covering most of the stalls and exchanging my cards and building new relationship with clients for developing our business. In the evening, we got the opportunity to have lunch together with different company people and also attended the seminar on food industry. The four day event is must visit for people and professionals related directly or indirectly to this industry. The event is sponsored by government organisation and associations. I would visit the expo again next year again to grab new opportunities and learn about food industry.

Lohri Celebration at Cousin Home

This year has been great for me and brought me lot of good times in my life. It is just three months but I have got lot of good memories and celebration moments. The first moment came when we got a chance to visit our cousin family in Haryana after they invited us and surprised us about lohri celebrations. The reason for celebrating this Hindu festival was coming of a new entrance to their family and it was a baby boy. My cousin brother became father and proud parent and his party was pending for many days and so they thought to celebrate with everyone on this auspicious occasion,

I felt really happy and as promised to them, me and all family members reached on time at their residence around 7pm in the evening. Everything was set up very nicely and in professional manner. They had hired a party vendor who looked after all the guests and made arrangements for tents, lighting and arranging food snacks and beverages. It was good to see my cousin and his family very happy and elated to celebrate with their new born baby. As the party progressed and it became dark, the music system started and we all started to dance on Hindi and Punjabi songs. We had good rush of dragline and all were pumped up to rock the dance floor. The atmosphere around us was so calm and everyone was very happy.

Then the Lohri ceremony started and many wood pieces were kept in the centre and fire was lit. We all took rounds around the fire and started to sing some traditional song. After some time, we threw popcorns and nuts in the fire as part of the ritual. After completion of all the traditions, dinner was served to us by the staff and it was very delicious and appreciated by everyone.

As the party ended, we gave the gifts and toys to my cousin and then headed back to our home. It was really a good day to celebrate and enjoy with family members.
